I grew up in a small village at the foot of the Western Ghats in Southern India, shaped by its folklore, rituals, and festivals. My formal musical training began in the Carnatic tradition before I went on to study Classical Voice and Composition in the European tradition. As a singer, I am an experienced chorister with a particular fascination for the polyphonic music of the Renaissance and early Baroque. I currently serve as a Composition Fellow at St. James, writing music for the High Mass choir. My current research examines the ritual roots of performance, engaging with texts such as the Natyashastra alongside the works of Schechner and Grotowski.
